The 8th of March marks International Women's Day, and in Bi+ Ireland we would like to mark the occasion by thanking all the amazing women that fought so hard to change the world, from the Women Vote to Pride and any other conquests. With all our heart, thank you. To any of you that get up today and fight another day against an imbalanced system that damages all genders, thank you. To any of you that make it through the day despite it, THANK YOU.
Here in Bi+ Ireland we fully recognise that all women are valid and beautiful. This includes of course transgender women and intersex women. Your experiences and lives enhance and enrich our shared history every day.
We also recognise that so many of us that don’t identify as women still face misogyny based discrimination. For those non-binary, agender and everyone else who is not a woman but finds themselves in a world that treats them as a woman or feels culturally aligned with the experiences of women: we see you. We understand that today may bring complicated feelings for you. Please know this you have a place in IWD, if it's you where your heart feels comfortable today.
There is still SO much to do, but we believe that together we are stronger and everyone that identifies as a woman as a political class is welcome to our fight ❤
Keep it up, and remember self-care is also an act to rebellion.
