A thin background board of the bi+ flag, the progress pride flag and the pan+ flag all placed diagonally Over that boarder is a black rectangle with all the images and text contained in that rectangle. On the left hand side is the Bi+ Ireland logo. The Bi+ Ireland logo is the words Bi+ Ireland written in pink to purple to blue gradient with galaxy like texture. Below this is the text online quiz to mark Dublin LGBTQ Pride Open to all Bi+ adults. On the right hand side is a white outline of a laptop On the screen reads Friday 26th June 2020 6pm Sign Up Now

Bi+ Ireland Pride Online Quiz will take place on Friday 26th June 2020 at 6 pm. For privacy reasons we ask you to fill out this form if you wish to participate. On the quiz day, we will send you an email containing the link and password to join the quiz. While we have many spaces to participate in the quiz, we do ask that everyone that intends to participate fills out the form. This is to prevent the unlikely scenario that more than the participants limit is reached.

While this is not a team quiz, we do understand there may be several people in the one household that would like to join in. If multiple people from the same household are participating, you could all, of course, join us on the one video call, but we do ask that each participant fills out the form as we have a participation limit on the quiz server we will be using. If there are multiple people joining from one household, only one person has to give their email address, the rest can just enter their name or an X, instead of an email if you wish.

For the purpose of this event, we will be hosting over Zoom.
We will be using a paid version of Zoom so there is end-to-end encryption on the call. A link to the zoom meeting and its password will be sent on the day. You are not required to download Zoom onto any device as you can access the meeting through any web browser. Nor do you have to sign up to zoom.

During the quiz, we will be using AhaSlides. Each player must have individual access to AhaSlides. AhaSlides does not require an app download or any sign-up. You access AhaSlides by going to https://ahaslides.com/ or using the link used in the email that will be sent on the day. The quiz is multiple choice questions and from your device, you will be able to select the right answer.

It’s important to note that each ideally household will have a laptop or phone or another device that is capable of using zoom. Additionally, each player must have access to a device so that they can input their answers using https://ahaslides.com/

While it is possible to navigate both Zoom and AhaSlides from the same device it is not ideal.

Accessibility notice: all the questions will be both readout and available on the screen to read.

To join the quiz please fill out https://forms.gle/6j2CwdJsHY5yBtr29

This quiz is open to all adults under the Bi+ Umbrella and their friends, partners, carers etc.

At the event there will be a...
- €15 One4All Digital Voucher for the Winner of the Quiz
-
€15 One4All Digital Voucher for the Most Visibly Proud, so whether you dress in your best Pride outfit or decorate your background, we want to see your proud creativity.

  • During the quiz, the questions will be read out loud as well as appearing on the screen.
    • Each question will be a multiple-choice question, except in the case of a tie-breaker.

  • At no stage are you expected to have your mic on or your video on, this is completely your choice.

Rules for the quiz
  • No cheating - for example, no googling or discussing the possible answers or hinting to the right answer.
  • Latecomers are allowed but we ask that you please stay audibly quiet if you join late, but feel free to write messages in the chat function.
  • If possible please wear headphones with a mic. This helps improve audio and reduces the amount of feedback in the call.
  • Keep mics on mute during the rounds.
  • If you have something you need to say to the host during the round, use the raise hand function.
    • Though please note you can also flag non-urgent issues in the chat function.
  • You can have a public chat in the chat function, but no private messaging anyone other than the host.
    • For example, once everyone has answered you can, of course, discuss the answer over in the chat.
    • Please note, there will be Bi+ Ireland volunteers keeping an eye on the chat.
  • In the interest of consensual interactions we are implementing a "badge" policy, which we learnt from another group.
Just rename yourself to include a the first letter of the colour badge you feel is appropriate.
    Eg: G -Cír, O - Irene, R - Owen
    • Green (G) means I'd like to interact so please chat with me & I might not speak out myself.
    • Orange (O) means prior permission - I only want to interact with people whom I've given permission - you can tell them beforehand or message them during the chat.
    • Red means - (R) I'm here, but not up for any kind of interaction
    • No colour means you'll manage things as they come .
    • You can change badges/ colour thing many times during a conversation but just remember it might take others a few seconds to notice.
    • You can type comments as well/ instead of using your voice .
    • If you're talking about a situation that is sensitive for you it might be helpful if you clearly say if you're looking for sympathy or if you're looking for solutions - but you don't have to do that .
  • This is a Bi+ Ireland event and as such our guidelines are in play. Remember to respect each other, act in good faith and know that no racism, sexism or lgbt-phobia will be tolerated.
    • For a full review of our guidelines please see http://tinyurl.com/irlbiguidelines

For the best experience please have 2 devices on hand during the Bi+ Ireland Pride Online Quiz 2020 on Friday 26th June at 6pm. One device for the Zoom call. One device on AhaSlides to answer the questions. Neither Zoom or AhaSlides requires signup or download.

You can use both of them on the one device but it is not ideal.
Many handheld devices offer split screen view options (an example of how this looks below). Another option is to jump between Zoom and AhaSlides when you wish to.

If multiple people from the same household are participating, you could all, of course, join us on the one video call. However each participant must have their own device to access AhaSlides.
Photo Description The photo is a screenshot of a phone screen. On the top half of the screen is the internet app open. The webpage loaded shows the AhaSlides logo with a quiz question on the screen. The bottom half of the screen is an open zoom app. The app sounds the camera on with a cartoon panda participating in the call

Our incredible founder Aoife O'Riordan spoke on the Dublin LGBTQ Pride stage this June, check out the speech video and text below.

Aoife & Ariel onstage at Pride 2017

Text of Aoife's Speech

Hi, Dublin Pride!

Hey!

My name is Aoife O’Riordan. I’m bisexual, and I am not confused.

I am not confused about my sexuality. Love and desire are things which demand to be felt. They are compasses that drive us not only to others, but to the very essence of who truly we are.

I’m not confused about my bisexuality, but some things do confuse me.

I am confused as to why bi people make up half of our beautiful community, and yet when I founded Bi+ Ireland, there was no organisation dedicated to serving our needs.

I’m confused as to why so many people come to our organisation having never knowingly met, seen, or even heard of another bi+ person.
